Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy
Gottman Couples Therapy

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.

How would you describe therapy with you?

Every person has unique goals and hopes for their life, and I collaborate with them on how best to achieve their desired wellbeing. My goal as a therapist is to create an environment that feels safe, supportive, and non-judgmental. My presence in the room is meant to provide structure and facilitation for each person’s natural growth to occur.

I am a relational therapist, meaning I believe that intimate connections are essential for all people. In session I often ask clients to focus on and consider their relationships. I believe authenticity and compassion, for one’s self and others, supports greater personal fulfillment. I work with adults and couples struggling with a variety of concerns to achieve a more vibrant and satisfying life.

How did you decide to become a therapist?

My path to become a therapist started when I needed my own healing and growth. Every time life has become a struggle – when I feel lonely, sad, hurt, or hopeless – I turn towards the lessons from my own personal work. How to cultivate tranquility for myself, how to fulfill my own needs, and how to realize my own self-worth.

I chose to become a therapist because I have experienced first-hand the benefit in seeking an outside counsel. I want to be the patient, empathetic presence who helps people in transition towards positive change.

What is one thing about you or your work that you would want clients to know?

Whether I am working with couples or individuals, my style as a therapist often involves exploration of both mental and physical reactions to the world. During session I ask clients to practice self-awareness by checking-in on their internal mind and body experience. I recognize and appreciate that people are diverse and complex. I am respectful and inclusive of all people.
