Jami Lynn Bula
Senior Clinician
A single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. - Henry David Thoreau

About Jami Lynn
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, she is a little bit of a hippie at heart, with an endless curiosity about romantic relationships and how to create a satisfying life. Jami Lynn has been insatiably curious about human relationships for as long as she can remember. She wanted to know what made people feel genuinely happy, satisfied, and loveable. She wanted to find out why do some people struggle in love and life, while others find a way to thrive.
Jami Lynn is also very passionate about a multitude of seemingly unconnected things: sex, poetry, psychology, Tantra Yoga, neuroscience, spirituality, fitness, and philanthropy, just to name a few. After almost a decade of school, post-graduate training, and thousands of hours with clients, she realized that her unusual combination of interests and skills could help others create the relationships they craved and deserved.
Jami Lynn wanted to find a way to share the tools and practices she was learning with more than just 40 people a week, so she decided to create Practice Intimacy. While continuing to see a full case-load of clients, she slowly started building an online education platform from the ground up. Through Practice Intimacy’s YouTube channel, podcast, and world-class online training programs, she helps people to live a blissful life, feel worthy of love, and turned-on.
Jami Lynn is a Senior Clinician at IPNB Psychotherapy of Austin, and can weave together deep work and goal focused work seamlessly. Her heart is fully with her people, even while her mind is putting together the puzzle that will help them unlock the way forward. If you are looking for both depth and efficiency, she is a great choice. Her skill set is vast. When it comes to both depth work and trauma healing, she has the tools to help.
Q&A with Jami Lynn
Bula
How would you describe therapy sessions with you?
Every person has unique goals and hopes for their life, and I collaborate with them on how best to achieve their desired wellbeing. My goal as a therapist is to create an environment that feels safe, supportive, and non-judgmental. My presence in the room is meant to provide structure and facilitation for each person's natural growth to occur.
How did you come to the decision of becoming a therapist?
My path to become a therapist started when I needed my own healing and growth. Every time my life becomes a struggle - when I feel lonely, sad, hurt, or hopeless - I turn towards the lessons from my own personal work. How to cultivate tranquility for myself, how to fulfill my own needs, and how to realize my own self-worth.
I chose to become a therapist because I have experienced first-hand the benefit in seeking an outside counsel. I want to be the patient, empathetic presence who helps people in their journey and transition towards positive change.
What is one thing about you that you want your clients to know?
Whether I'm working with couples or individuals, my style as a therapist often involves exploration of both mental and physical reactions to the world. During my sessions, I ask clients to practice self-awareness by checking in on their internal mind and body experience. I recognize and appreciate that people are diverse and complex. I'm always respectful and inclusive of all people.
